Okta - How do I Log In?

Kean University has partnered with Okta, a world leader in identity and access management (IAM), to provide a seamless and secure login experience to Kean resources and services.

Benefits of using Okta Single Sign-On (SSO) include: 

  • Provides a secure set of credentials that allow for access to multiple applications, saving you valuable time when repeatedly accessing the same services. 
  • Provides additional security features and functionality like multi-factor authentication methods, and secure mobile device verifications.
  • And much, much more! 


How do I enroll? 

Enrolling your device in Okta only takes a few steps. Visit https://sso.kean.edu to begin the enrollment process, we suggest using a device other than your mobile phone as you will need to download the Okta Verify / Google Authenticator app and scan a QR code during this process. You'll be greeted with a sign-in page and will need to enter your Kean username (Kean Google Email ID) and password.

After you have logged in, you will be prompted to set up your mobile device as your second authentication factor using Okta Verify or Google Authenticator.



NOTE: if you are using Okta Verify or Google Authenticator and you get a new mobile device, you MUST call the OCIS Help Desk (908-737-6000) to have them clear those factors so that you can do a fresh setup of the app/s on your new phone.

After you've enrolled your device you will need to choose a security image on the enrollment webpage you began the process from.



Click the security image you'd like to use and then select "Create My Account". You have now successfully set up your Okta account!
