Admin By Request provides end users a way to request administrator access for their currently logged in user account. It will allow you to have temporary administrative rights to your workstation, or to just a single application/executable on demand.
Please Note :
- Requirements
- Admin by Request Client must be installed on the computer
- Approval Expiration
- Approvals expire after 2 weeks. If approval expires before you are able to use the administrator access. You well gave to submit another request.
- Code of Conduct
- If your request is approved, all changes to the workstation are logged, follow Kean University Code of Conduct at all times.
To request administrator access, select the Check Mark on the top right of your screen and then choose "Request administrator access."
At the User Account Control prompt, fill in the required information. Please be as detailed as possible.
After submitting your request you receive an acknowledge on the screen as well as by email.
After approximately 2-5 minutes after approval , you'll receive a pop-up stating your session was approved and displaying the following screen where you can choose to start your admin session.
Note: If that pop-up box does not appear, you can go back to the top right corner of your screen and choose "Request access" again; it will start your session and show you the following screen
You’ll have 300 minutes of Administrator access
Note : After you have completed the task that requires an administrator, end your session by clicking Finish followed by Yes
Now that you have administrator access, you can install your application. If the application asks for credentials, use the credentials for the account you're logged in to.
Once you install the application(s), you can select "Finish" You have successfully used Admin by Request.
