Overview: What is OneDrive?
As part of our efforts to provide seamless and secure file access, this guide explains how to save your files to OneDrive when using a Kean computer lab machine. By saving to OneDrive, your data will be accessible from anywhere, without needing to return to the lab machine where the files were created or stored.
You can save your files to OneDrive through a web browser or directly within any Microsoft 365 application (such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.), as explained in the steps below.
Saving to OneDrive from the Web
To save to OneDrive from the web:
- Navigate to https://storage.kean.edu/ and log in using your Kean credentials.
- Select "Add new", then select your desired upload type (your upload options will be "Files upload" or "Folder upload"). Select the file(s) you want to upload to OneDrive and click "Open"to upload them.
- Once your file upload is complete, you will see a notification at the bottom of the screen (shown below):
Saving to OneDrive from Microsoft 365 Applications
To save to OneDrive from any Microsoft 365 application:
- Make sure that you're logged into your Kean account to enable saving to Microsoft 365 applications. To do so, select "File" > "More" > "Account" and navigate to "User Information" to confirm that you're signed in.
- If you're not signed in, select "Sign In" and authenticate using your Kean credentials.
- Once you are ready to save, select "File" > "Save As..." and select "OneDrive - kean.edu" as the destination to save your file. Name your file as desired and select "Save" to upload your file to OneDrive.
