What happens to all the accounts/sites like Canva, LinkedIn etc. that use the Gmail username to access those sites? Do we need to recreate our accounts?

You will not need to recreate accounts- your credentials to the external sites will remain the same as email will still function and integrations to other sites will remain intact.
