How to Enable Grade Change Notifications in Canvas

Canvas can notify you when grades are posted or changed in your courses. Follow these steps to ensure you receive immediate notifications:

Step 1: Access Your Notification Preferences

1. Log into Canvas at canvas.kean.edu
2. Click on Account in the left navigation menu
3. Select Notifications

Step 2: Configure Grading Notifications

1. Locate the Grading section in your notification preferences
2. Find the following notification types:
   • Grading Policies Updated
   • Assignment Grading
   • Submission Comment
3. For each notification type, click the icon under your preferred contact method (email is recommended)
4. Select Notify immediately

Step 3: Verify Your Contact Information

1. Ensure your email address is correct under Ways to Contact
2. Add additional contact methods if desired (SMS, push notifications)

Recommended Settings:

• Email notifications: Notify immediately
• Push notifications (if using Canvas mobile app): Notify immediately

Once configured, you'll receive immediate notifications when grades are posted or changed in your courses.
