Introduction
This solution explains how instructors can link LinkedIn Learning content to their Canvas course using the LinkedIn Learning external tool integration (LTI). Integrating LinkedIn Learning allows instructors to embed professional development videos and courses directly into Canvas. Students can access the content without leaving Canvas, and instructors can track participation when the tool is configured for graded assignments.
This should be used when instructors want to:
- Embed LinkedIn Learning videos into course content
- Assign professional development learning modules
- Provide supplemental learning resources
- Track student completion of LinkedIn Learning activities
- Enhance course content with industry-based instruction
- LinkedIn Learning is commonly used to support skill development and enhance course learning objectives.
This is for instructors who want to incorporate LinkedIn Learning videos or courses into their Canvas course. LinkedIn Learning provides expert-led content covering topics such as technology, leadership, communication, design, business, and more.
Before linking LinkedIn Learning to Canvas, the following requirements should be met:
- LinkedIn Learning must be enabled for the institution
- The instructor must have access to LinkedIn Learning through the institution
- The Canvas course must be available to the instructor
- The instructor must have permission to add external tools
- Students must have access to LinkedIn Learning through the institution’s license
If LinkedIn Learning is not visible in the course navigation or External Tool list, contact the Learning Technologies team for assistance.
