Introduction
This solution explains how instructors can link McGraw Hill course materials (such as Connect, ALEKS, or SIMnet) to their Canvas course using the McGraw Hill external tool integration (LTI). Integrating McGraw Hill allows instructors and students to access digital textbooks, homework, quizzes, and learning activities directly within Canvas. Grades from McGraw Hill assignments can automatically sync to the Canvas Gradebook.
This should be used when a course requires McGraw Hill digital content or assignments that need to connect with Canvas. Linking McGraw Hill ensures students can access publisher materials directly within the Canvas course and allows assignment grades to transfer automatically to the Canvas Gradebook.
This is for instructors who are using McGraw Hill learning platforms (Connect, ALEKS, SIMnet) and want students to access course materials directly through Canvas without needing separate logins.
Before linking McGraw Hill to Canvas, the following requirements should be met:
- The McGraw Hill integration must be available in Canvas
- The instructor must have an active McGraw Hill instructor account
- The correct McGraw Hill course materials must be selected
- The Canvas course must be accessible to the instructor
- The instructor must have permission to add external tools
If McGraw Hill is not visible in the course navigation, contact the Learning – Kean IT team by placing a request at helpdesk.kean.edu under Applications & Software for assistance.
