Linking Wiley to Canvas

Table of Contents

Introduction

This solution explains how instructors can link Wiley course materials (such as WileyPLUS or ZyBooks) to their Canvas course using the Wiley external tool integration (LTI). Integrating Wiley allows instructors and students to access digital textbooks, assignments, quizzes, and learning activities directly within Canvas. Grades from Wiley assignments can automatically sync to the Canvas Gradebook.

This should be used when a course requires Wiley digital materials or assignments that need to connect with Canvas. Linking Wiley ensures students can access publisher content from within the Canvas course and allows assignment grades to transfer automatically to the Canvas Gradebook.

This is for instructors who are using Wiley learning platforms (such as WileyPLUS or ZyBooks) and want students to access course materials directly through Canvas without needing separate logins. Linking Wiley content through Canvas provides a streamlined experience and keeps course materials centralized in one place.

Before linking Wiley to Canvas, the following requirements should be met:

    • The Wiley integration must be available in Canvas
    • The instructor must have an active Wiley instructor account
    • The correct Wiley course materials must be selected
    • The Canvas course must be accessible to the instructor
    • The instructor must have permission to add external tools

If Wiley is not visible in the course navigation, contact the Learning Technologies – Kean IT team by placing a request at helpdesk.kean.edu under Applications & Software for assistance.
