This article explains how students can access exams and quizzes in Canvas that require the Respondus LockDown Browser. This article is for Students required to use LockDown Browser for assessments
Use this guide if you need to:
- Take a Canvas quiz or exam requiring LockDown Browser

Before proceeding, ensure that:
- You have a Windows or Mac computer (Chromebooks are not compatible)
- You have access to the Canvas course and exam
- Verify your instructor has enabled LDB for the appropriate exam (Ask them)
Instructions / Solution Steps
Step 1: Download LockDown Browser
- Download the official Kean version here: LockDown Browser Download
Step 2: Install LockDown Browser
- Follow the installation prompts for your operating system
- Once installed, restart your computer if prompted
Step 3: Launch Exam
- Open Canvas and navigate to your course
- Launch the exam directly from within Canvas using LockDown Browser
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your assessment
