- If you are not able to access University-internal resources while connected to CougarNet, follow the instructions on Incorrect DNS Settings.
Slow Connection Speeds?
- For optimal Wi-Fi performance, we recommend turning off and then turning on wireless on your device upon arrival at your desired campus location. This ensures your device connects to the nearest Wireless Access Point, providing the best signal strength.
Repeatedly Getting Prompted for Credentials?
- On another device, log in to the MyApps Portal (https://myapps.kean.edu) and confirm your Kean credentials. Once confirmed, forget the wireless network and attempt to connect to the wireless network using the credentials used to log in to the MyApps Portal.
- If unsuccessful, or you do not know your Kean credentials, contact the IT Help Desk at 908-737-6000 for assistance in recovering your account, and be prepared to present an ID to confirm ownership of the account.
Wireless Network Certificate Update
To improve the security and reliability of our wireless network, Kean IT updates the certificates annually and has recently upgraded the Wi-Fi infrastructure. As a result, when you connect to the university's Wi-Fi network, you may see prompts to “Update settings” and “Trust” a new certificate on Apple devices.
This update is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our network and ensuring a safe online environment for all users. Please follow the prompts on your device to trust the new certificate when connecting to the Wi-Fi network on the campus.
If you encounter any difficulties or have questions about this update, please don't hesitate to reach out to the IT Help Desk at 908-737-6000 or helpdesk.kean.edu.
