WiFi is critical - over the past week, we have engaged our manufacturer and our systems integration vendor to assist our internal network team to survey, diagnose, and implement a plan to deliver a World-Class WiFi experience.
We're thrilled to announce some exciting updates to our WiFi network aimed at enhancing your connectivity experience across campus. Here's what's new:
- Consolidated SSIDs: We've streamlined our WiFi network by consolidating SSIDs, making it easier for you to connect seamlessly. For a list of available WiFi networks, click here.
- Extended Encrypted WiFi Network: We're pleased to extend our encrypted WiFi network to students, ensuring a secure and reliable connection for all members of our community
- Introducing WiFi 6: We've introduced WiFi 6 technology to more academic buildings in the Union Campus, delivering faster speeds and improved performance for your wireless devices.
- Eduroam is an exciting new option for Kean students, faculty, and staff. It offers seamless Internet connectivity across participating institutions worldwide, including educational institutions, universities, national labs, museums, and airports. - Enhanced User Experience: We've fine-tuned our wireless access points to provide a better user experience, ensuring smoother connectivity across campus.
- Increased Channels: To reduce network noise and minimize disconnects, we've enabled more channels on our access points, optimizing performance for all users.
