Access to University-internal Resources

  • While connected to the CougarNet WiFi network, access to University-internal resources will be granted based on the individual's role at the University.
  • While connected to the eduroam WiFi network, Kean students, faculty, or staff will be unable to access University-internal resources like network drives and printers.
  • While connected to the Kean network, ensure to use https://www.kean.edu when trying to access the University website.
  • If you are not able to access University-internal resources while connected to CougarNet, follow the instructions on Incorrect DNS Settings.

Slow Connection Speeds?

  • For optimal Wi-Fi performance, we recommend turning off and then turning on wireless on your device upon arrival at your desired campus location. This ensures your device connects to the nearest Wireless Access Point, providing the best signal strength.

Repeatedly Getting Prompted for Credentials?

  • On another device, log in to the MyApps Portal (https://myapps.kean.edu) and confirm your Kean credentials. Once confirmed, forget the wireless network and attempt to connect to the wireless network using the credentials used to log in to the MyApps Portal.
  • If unsuccessful, or you do not know your Kean credentials, contact the OCIS Help Desk at 908-737-6000 for assistance in recovering your account, and be prepared to present an ID to confirm ownership of the account.
