Fixing Canvas Email Bounce-Backs

If your Canvas emails are bouncing back and you’ve been assigned a new default Kean University email address ([email protected]), follow these steps to update it in Canvas:


  1.  Log into your Canvas account.
  2. Click Account (top left), then select Settings from the dropdown menu.
  3. On the right side, click"+ Email Address". 
  4. In the pop-up window, make sure Email is selected. Enter your new default email address, then click Register Email.
  5. Check your Kean email inbox for a confirmation message from Canvas and verify your new email address.

  6. Back in Canvas, make sure the star is selected next to your new email address to set it as default.
